Welcome all my fledgling wiccans. My name is Wendy, and I have designed this site to help new and likeminded wiccans on their journey to understanding and practising wicca. I have always been what you would call a spiritual person, but I struggled when it came to defining my own personal belief system. Life was not always easy for me, and I spent many years dealing with living in survival mode and struggling to accept the story that had been written for me. It wasn’t until I stumbled on the book Witchcraft Today by Gerald Brosseau Gardner (often referred to as the founder of modern wicca) that I finally felt that I had found something I could fully support and believe in. I instantly felt a connection to the material and knew that I had finally found the path for me.
Wicca is all about balance and accepting both the positive and negative (light and dark) aspects of oneself to be whole. In her article “Walking the Middle Path: Balancing Light and Shadow in Witchcraft”, Pamela Kazmierczak wrote “This balanced approach not only enhances our spiritual practices but also fosters personal growth, healing, and transformation.” This belief really helped me to embrace all the parts of myself and accept the things that I had been struggling with internally.
I also found that the more I learned about Wiccan Philosophy (check out wiccangathering.com “13 principles of Wiccan Belief" for a more detailed list),like “harm ye none”, the idea that we can do anything as long as no harm comes to anyone else, the basic “three-fold rule” of what you put out comes back to you three times and just the connection to nature and balance that this religion made sense to me and I actually agreed with everything I learned which was a first for me. So please “Come little children, I'll take thee away, into a land of enchantment. Come little children, the time's come to play, here in my garden of shadows.(Hocus Pocus 1993)” Let me show you why I love Wicca and help you towards finding your own path.
